IDEOLOGY BEHIND QBS HOME

The ideology behind QBS HOME FOR AMAZING KIDS is ‘’Education As Help To Life”. This little institution aims to develop a generation of young learners who are equipped with life skills; filled with humanity; love to share their knowledge and expertise; take pride in their identity; are fully engrossed in their learning and work; choose their work with independence. QBS HOME aims to educate a generation of young learners who not only have learnt to respect nature but also acquired skills to protect it.

HISTORY BEHIND QBS HOME AND ITS LINK TO QASIM BIN SA’ADAT.

QBS HOME was started in Feb 2020 , in a rented 3 room, 6 marla rented house in sleepy little dairy village called Zakheera surrounded by green corn and wheat fields and red mud hills in the outskirts of Islamabad, capital city of Pakistan. Most of the land around this village has now been purchased and developed into a modern housing society called Bahria Enclave. This 3 room house was painted, repaired, renovated, furnished and adorned with Montessori Material and many other learning activities material shifted from its parent institution NISHAN E HAIDER ALMA MATER, KARACHI,.. donated by its principal Mrs Batul Mansur.

However the coronavirus pandemic engulfed the whole world and a country wide lockdown was imposed in March 2020. QBS HOME remained unfunctional till Aug 2020. In Aug 2020, brochures were published and distributed in the neighbouring residential sectors. Slowly and gradually kids started trickling in.

Interestingly, our first pupil with Roll no 1 was named Mohammad ‘’Qasim’’ Ansari.

QBS is a home, not a school or academy or a centre. Pupils at QBS HOME learn with love, attachment and personal initiative, just as Dr Maria Montessori believed ‘’Doing what you like and liking what you do’’.,

VISION

To instill and propagate love, respect and joy for nature, work and knowledge in young learners. To inculcate love and affection for Mother nature and develop a common brotherhood between each other. Learning to respect manual work and labour, and create a life for themselves which can become purposeful, fulfilling and enjoyable with nature rather than devices.

To establish a learning home conducive to acquiring social life skills, academic and co curricular skills. To inculcate love for all kinds of academic, intellectual, artistic and sports activities
It is our aim to inculcate dignity, value and respect for manual work, respect for mental and physical discipline, and to develop our learners into well rounded personalities.

QBS HOME ACADEMICS & CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

QBS HOME FOR AMAZING KIDS follows the Single National Curriculum, as prescribed by the Federal Government School Board, Islamabad, Pakistan. QBS HOME FOR AMAZING KIDS is currently running classes for 3 to 11 year old kids admitted through Pre Primary (Montessori) to Grade 5.

QBS HOME FOR AMAZING KIDS not only educates the children in the traditional subjects like languages (English, Urdu), Mathematics and General Knowledge. Children are also regularly engaged in IQ building activities, Sports, Library visits, Arts, Music, Religion, Gardening Nature care, Farm trips and Preservation and care for their surroundings. Regular video watching sessions are also part of the kids’ activities at QBS HOME FOR AMAZING KIDS.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT OF QBS HOME KIDS

There is emphasis on cleanliness, care for each other and their surroundings. All these trainings, exposures and education have positively impacted the personality development and thoughts and approaches of our kids at QBS HOME. The environment of refinement, reformation, education, care and comfort has impacted these kids… Slowly and gradually these changes and improvements are becoming visible in their behaviors and appearances.

QBS HOME is a home, in more than one way for its pupils. The most glaring proof of our work and loving environment is that every day QBS HOME kids do not want to go home but stay on at QBS HOME! However, it’s still a long journey ahead of us.

CHALLENGING FAMILY LIVES OF QBS HOME KIDS

All students are hailing from neighboring villages of Zakheera, Haji Market, Malot and Jagyot. By and large the total population of a household is around 7 + members. Certain kids come from broken families, single parent home or step parents’ situations. Fathers of these kids are engaged in manual labor like construction, house guards, home cooks. The fathers’ monthly income is generally around PKR 15000/to 20000/ per month. In some instances, fathers are alcoholics, ICE/Heroine/Hash/ Cocaine users. In other cases father may be doing a jail term for selling addictive substances or for murder. Certain fathers have abandoned the family and therefore do not provide for the family.

In other cases, mothers have deserted the kids due to family feuds, remarried or simply disappeared. Most mothers are either home bound or work as domestic maids. Working mothers earn approximately PKR 10000/ per month.

New kids continue to trickle in, whereas some continue to drop out due to survival issues in a city life.
